Wandering Around Wiltshire

It’s road-trip time! Join me as I explore the Wiltshire/Somerset area and do a bit of a National Trust extravaganza. That intro sounded like quite the monologue, but I do have quite a few places to cover in this gallery post.

First of all on my travels, I took a look at Lacock Village and Abbey which is incredible quaint and picturesque – with an abundance of buildings built from local stone. You may also recognise Lacock from some films and TV shows, it has been used as a filming location quite a few times!

Next up, Stonehenge. Set within the Salisbury Plain Stonehenge really does stand out, there are still certainly hills around but it did strike me with how flat the Salisbury Plains do feel. If you are visiting Stonehenge, get there early! It gets busy pretty quickly.

Heading Westwards, I visited Stourhead. Stourhead is home to a country mansion, as well as landscaped gardens which offer great views and moments to pause. I spent a considerable amount of time at Stourhead, ensuring that I photographed as much as I could which meant doing a few loops of the main lake.

There’s a lot to see at Stourhead, so it’s well worth setting aside the whole day to take in all it has to offer. There are many hidden nooks or less suspecting areas to see which have more to offer, it certainly does go on and on (in a good way)!

For the final bit of my tour, I headed up Glastonbury Tor towards the tour and looked out upon the countryside landscape. I then visited Lytes Cary Manor for a bite to eat and spend the afternoon as a nice way to wrap up my journey.

With the benefit of late summer, croquet on the lawn!

In the Brecon Beacons

It's time to lace up my walking boots and head to the Brecon Beacons to undoubtedly log far too many hikes on Strava!

Broadway in Winter

I was pleasantly surprised when I began to see the countryside of Worcestershire become more and more covered by snow as I headed towards Broadway.
