Stiperstones from the Mist

To kick off the year, I headed up to Stiperstones – which in itself is not too far from the Long Mynd. This was my first visit to Stiperstones, and to add to it, it was cloudy and misty as well which does look great on camera but can add a challenge to navigating somewhere new for the first time!

Setting off from The Bog Mine, the start of the route took me through Nipstone Rock Nature Reserve which, at this point, was incredibly foggy and had a very brief dusting of snow!

As I started to approach the more immediate Stiperstones area, the fog and cloud started to clear slightly – revealing more of the landscape and terrain ahead. Combined with the leading pathways heading into the foggy distance, I think this created some very atmospheric photographs.

Eventually, you could see the clouds being blown away by the wind – quite a sight to see how quickly the environment would change. But at long last, I was able to see more of the landscape I had just spent the last couple of hours walking through.
