Oxford and the Shire

Following my trip to Edinburgh, I wasn’t quite done with putting my camera away for the week – so I headed down to Oxfordshire.

Oxford as a city is very nice, incredibly walkable with lots to do – so walkable, in fact, that I did Park & Walk instead of Park & Ride (which I may have been a little over-keen to get my steps up in hindsight)!

I ended up visiting a couple of museums as well as the botanical gardens, but even at University of Oxford – you have the rule-breakers… see the bike sign.

Outside of the city, I also visited Blenheim Palace – which, in terms of scale, is colossal. The Palace is grand in every sense and the gardens are very large as well, it’s easy to spend a day here. The Palace is usually showing exhibitions at various times of year as well, so well worth checking to see if there is something that takes your fancy!

And, of course, a trip with Richard wouldn’t be right without some National Trust visits – I ended up visiting a few located near to Oxford but wanted to include some shots from Basildon Park in this post, you may recognise it from some Films and TV shows.
