Dyrham Park in the December Sun

For one of my final trips for the year, I set my sights on Dyrham Park – an ancient deer park and country house in South Gloucestershire. Funnily enough, I had passed Dyrham Park on my way back from my adventures around Wiltshire so thought it was only time to visit properly.

The house is situated within some hills, giving it a secluded feel as you are surrounded by trees that stand tall above you. Most were bare at this time of year, however there are still some green and orange tones to be had – adding some splashes of colour into the landscape.

It’s well worth stopping by the Old Lodge at the top of the hill and taking a walk around the nearby circular path, it offers some very nice panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Closer to the house, the scenery doesn’t stop. The gardens feature lovely landscaping for some great photographic leading lines and the architecture is also great to stop and look at.
