Changing Weather at Elan Valley

Elan Valley features some incredible views within the Welsh hills and countryside, with a walk leading you along a number of reservoirs for stunning landscapes.

Despite my visit being in the Autumn on what was a fairly overcast day, the valley is full of colour and life. I was able to get a variety of different landscapes that had a number of different moods.

The main walk leads you directly aside the main road, with a steep incline on one side, through the valley and alongside the reservoirs. Eventually the clear weather started to turn and a very heavy rainfall came in which created some great atmospheric shots.

At the end of the reservoirs, you can walk down to the stream which runs through the remainder of the valley and into the nearby countryside. This is more peaceful than the powerful torrent of water coming out of the final reservoir, and the crossing bridge gives you a direct view down the stream.
